One evening after tours were over a few of us glacier folk sat in the office considering our options for winter jobs and fall traveling. As a seasonal worker you don't always have plans for the off season or a job lined up next.(this can feel like freedom and complete chaos at once) With only ideas in mind we decided to let Fate tell us what to do next. So like educated adults make important decisions... we flipped a coin. I for one don't want to fail at what fate decides is right for me, so I flipped and promised to do what the coin said. Heads was Mexico and Tails was Hawaii. Taking a deep breath in with one eye closed the coin flew in the air... and landed with Tails....HAWAII!
So this weekend armed with a tent and sleeping bags in our backpacks... We are off to the land of sunshine.
We have our Lonely Planet guide to The Big Island and no real plans.
Who knows what will happen next...Wish us luck.
